Our first annual Holiday Open House was a smashing success.
We made many new friends and introduced the alpaca to many folks
that had never seen one before. We plan to host this event again in 2010,
so please be sure to join in the fun.
Congratulations to Trisha B. of Alpharetta, GA for winning the goodie basket!

Birth Announcements
We had four gorgeous, healthy Accoyo Bear Claw cria this June, 2010. Three females (lt fawn, true black, dk fawn) and one really nice male out of our Legacy Snowmass girl (lt fawn). (pictures coming soon).
Welcome to LMA, Fall of 2009: Fire Cove's Juliana and her son, Statosphere's Jabberwocky. Jabber is a 7/8 Accoyo Bay Black, and he is ready to rocket us to the moon! Look for him in the show ring this spring! His dam is a 3/4 Accoyo True Black out of the famous Accoyo America El Nino. To our knowledge, the only black he ever threw and she is here in GA, owned by us and Gail and Steve Scherer of Woodsong Alpacas. We plan to get some gorgeous cria out of her and Bear Claw! (Pics coming soon.)
Born Summer 2009: LMA Bear Claw's Sookie, Out of one of production dams, and sired by Bear Claw. Sookie is different. She started off looking like a Suri. A bright, silky fleece with a very different structure. As she has grown, it seems her secondary fibers are coming in stronger. Her fiber lays in flakes or layers and feels very heavy (like Suri fiber). We look forward to showing her, although we think it will take the right judge to understand what they are looking at with her. Snowmass likes to call these cria's Silkys. It will be interesting to test her fiber.
Born Summer, 2009: LMA Bear Claw's Dooley, Dooley is out of one of our nice dams that we are now considering moving to our foundation herd, Ingressa Jengibrie. She has produced three fabulous cria, two of witch have done very well in the show ring and in tough company. Dooley, seems to be the nicest so far. He will hit the show circuit in late spring 2010.
Born Spring, 2009: LMA Bear Claw's Sugarfoot. Suge has the prettiest little feminine head. I just love looking at her. She only made it to one show in her career and took second. She has a very nice stable length and will make a wonderful production dam.
Born Spring, 2009: LMA Bear Claw's On Like Popcorn. He is just the most gentle, laid back dude. (Just like his sire, Bear Claw.) His fiber is gorgeous! His coverage is incredible! His bone, huge! His pedigree, unreal! (out of our line-bred Legacy dam x Bear Claw). He is fun, fun, fun to show!
Born Winter, 2009: LMA Spider. It is difficult to compete in the whites at shows. But this guy just might be our ticket! We almost beat Magical Farms at the Royal Alpaca Challenge. "It was a very close top pair". Look out...
Born Summer, 2008: LMA Booger Bear. Sired by Accoyo Bear Claw and our true black dam, Coco. This is Bear Claw's first offspring and we are very excited to have a full accoyo throwing color. Booger is a true black with bright shiny black fleece close to his skin, nice character and superfine. Once we shear those cria tips off he will just glow!
Born Summer, 2008:LMA "Loaded" Tater. Tater is also a Accoyo Bear Claw cria. He is the same deep golden brown or dark fawn as his dam, Ingressa Gingebre. Ingressa won a few blues as a youngster and is holding her own. Tater is super crimpy and very dense. We can't wait to show this fella.
Born Summer, 2008: Whippoorwill. Whip is out of our white foundation gal, Cyrene. Cyrene had a 16.4 micron fleece at age one. She has loads of color in her background, so we tried to bring that out by breeding her to MFI Lethal Weapon. Unfortunately we did not get the color we wanted, but she is super soft like her mom with crimpy, buttery (almost greasy) fleece. She has a better head on her that an Irish poured Guiness!
Born Spring, 2008: LMA Pura Vida Pura's sire is the famous Accoyo America Nautilus, and her dam, one of our best foundation gals is out of Accoyo America El nino. Nice combo, what a pedigree on this one! She is buttery soft like her dam, Accoyo America Harmonia, although a larger, deeper crimp style then we expected, she is so bright it hurts to look at in the sun. We know she will test fine! She feels so good to touch, I always have to run my hands down her back at feeding time-yummy! Can't wait to wear something made from her fiber.
Old News, but not forgotten:
LMA Tuckaseegee (born Summer 2007): Gorgeous crimpy, dense fiber. Update: Tuck is showing interest and is ready to breed. He has a very nice pedigree. His dam, has taken Produce of Dam and won a few blues when she was young. His sire is MFI My Peruvian Abundance. He is very dense and still holding fineness. He recently took second at the Royal Alpaca Challenge in November 09. He is for sale for a very good price. Please see his information on Alpacanation
